RFID for infectious hospital departments

Organization of an automated RFID system begins with the labeling of each element of the anti-plague suit with RFID tags. All the strategically important nodes of the department are equipped with RFID equipment, and the corresponding software is integrated into the hospital information system.

Medical staff identification

It is not possible to visually identify an employee equipped with a plague-proof suit. A self-adhesive RFID badge printed on a special RFID printer allows not only visually identifying a health worker even in the most closed biological protection equipment, but also provides the ability to track all movements in real time.

Department Access Control

An RFID antenna is installed at the input, which identifies the employee and verifies the completeness of his anti-plague suit. If all conditions are met, the system gives permission to enter. If a violation of completeness or the absence of a badge is detected, the employee will not be able to get into the department until the discrepancy is eliminated.

Staff movement monitoring

The RFID system automatically records the route of each medical officer and transmits data on the movement and time spent in the infectious diseases ward to the hospital’s information system online.

Monitoring of the movement of medical instruments

With the help of a smart desktop, on the screen of which a complete list of the prepared set is displayed, the RFID system captures the accuracy of the complete set of the medical tool kit before and after the operation to make sure that everything is ready to start the procedure and that no surgical tools are left inside the patient after operations.

At the end of the operation, all instruments are placed in an RFID container for identification and verification of the completeness of the kit and sent for sterilization in it. Missing tools will be highlighted in red on the screen until the completeness discrepancy is resolved.
